Growing up I loved playing "catch" with Dad.

While it lasted, that is.

Dad taped off a little blue rectangle on the wooden garage doors, and I'd throw my craziest curveball to try to impress him. Until one night when his boss called about a "promotion," which is grown-up for "more money, less playtime." 

We needed the money.

Dad took the job.

And I don’t remember him having fun ever since.

He was always busy with work stuff.

He’d come home around 6, grab a byte and lock himself in the office again.

But hey, I don’t blame him.

Back then when you got offered a promotion, you better take it.

The only way to make more money was to climb that corporate ladder and sacrifice the “family fun” time.

Luckily all that’s changed.

You no longer need to choose between family and your job.

You can have both.
