While politicians and CEOs are busy patting themselves on the back about falling unemployment and an "improving economy"...

A massive crisis is breaking.

No, I'm not talking about a "hypothetical" stock market crash. Or the US debt bubble popping. Or some other global event that might happen in the future.

That's because the effects of this crisis are ALREADY here.

I'm talking about the death of the traditional 9-5.

See, we've been promised for years that this "American Dream" was the ultimate path to financial success.

That if we just clock in 40 hours a week for 40 years or so... you'll be able to retire and enjoy life. That if we "worked hard" our employers would reward us.

Except this is not what's happening.

In the last 15 years, employee productivity has jumped by 22% (i.e. people are working harder than ever and creating more value for their employers.)

However, wages have only gone up by 1.8%.

We're working harder than ever... and not getting paid for it.

If that's not bad enough.

We're being forced to stay at the office for longer hours. Thanks to our phones, we're expected to be "on call" nights and weekends. And half of Americans can't even use their meager vacation time due to a heavy workload.

People are miserable because of it all.

A mere 32.6% of people say they're "engaged" at work.

Some "dream", right?

Reuters reporter Amir Cohen put it bluntly: "The legacy nine-to-five no longer exists."

Here's the thing though...

You can't sit around waiting for your boss to magically make your job situation better or increase your salary.

It's not going to happen.

In fact, most companies are clueless that the problems even exists! 

(When surveyed, two-thirds of CEOs said their employees have a "balanced life"... despite the majority of those employees telling researchers the exact opposite.)

The truth is...

YOU have to be the one to take control of your financial future and create the kind of life you want.

You have to go out there and create alternative income streams -- be it generating passive income from investing or building a business.
