We have all probably heard a story from someone about Generational Curses!

Most of the time it may be the Generational Financial Curse, and after hearing such a story, we may make ourselves a promise that “I won’t make the same mistake!”

Years ago, I was told by a Life Insurance Agent that the poor don’t have anything because they don’t leave anything behind! He included himself in that situation as well and then told me about his beginnings.

He said his grandfather came to the United States in the 1920’s and found work.

Every month he would put $100 in a savings account.

When his oldest son turned 40 (the life insurance agent’s uncle), he turned over management of the account to his son.

His son asked him “what was the account for?” and his father told him that they were “Building Generational Wealth!”

He told his son that it may not happen in his lifetime, but eventually the family would have Generational Wealth and would never have to ask a bank for a loan again!

Unfortunately, that type of wisdom is not passed on in all families because most of us or our parents have never been taught about Financial Literacy.

If your Family’s Generational Curse is a Financial Literacy Curse, it doesn’t have to continue.

I recently read an article about an International Financial Literacy questionnaire where 70 percent of the respondents could not pass a basic five questions quiz about Financial Literacy!
