"I'm going to leave you, if you don't get a new car".

I'll never forget the pain as she said this...
My ex - her name was Jess.
And while we were watching a movie in my house I could feel that something was wrong.
So I asked...
"What's wrong?" with some concern...
She slowly looked over and said...
"You need to get a new vehicle, or I'm gonna leave you".
I paused...
And a million thoughts ran through my head.
Yes - my 2003 Chevy Malibu was not the best. And it didn't run.
You know why it didn't?
I had pick axed my own break line, while trying to get it out of the snow...
For our first date.
The reason my car didn't work at the time, was because of trying to bring her on a date.
So...
I didn't react...
I didn't even say much back...
She was valuing "stuff" over me.
Little did she know I had more money stacked in the bank then she had seen in her life.
Long story short...
She proved to just want lots of new stuff. Lots of all the above.
Even though I was taking care of every experience and everything we needed no problem.
Jess is an ex for a reason.
And I did get a (at the time) new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - after I had dumped her.
But, I didn't get it as a "screw you".
I got the Jeep, because I wanted it.
And that's the limitless freedom we all want.
It flows deep.
When people can tell us and demand of us whatever they want.
And we can say.
NO.
I live life on my terms.
And will get and give when I see fit.
So, I'm not telling you to "jump on the horse and start riding".
The timing - is right tho.
Whenever...
You feel and think to yourself, "I'm ready. I want this, because I want this. Not because someone else does."
