Manicures are a great way to make yourself happy. Beyond the therapeutic advantage of getting your nails done, they also contribute to your overall health. Hence, it's essential to put as much effort and resources as you can.

One of the ways to treat your nails right is by using gel polish. There are several types of nail polishes. However, the gel polishes last longer than the others. Hence, it's essential to know how to apply them effectively.

The formula of gel polishes makes them incredibly adhesive to the natural nail. However, you should be careful of where you buy gel polishes. Some products contain harmful chemicals. So, we'll advise that you purchase gel polishes at formulaprofi.pro

Once you have your quality gel polish with you, it’s time to apply it perfectly.

TOOLS YOU NEED TO APPLY GEL POLISH AT HOME

If you're switching to gel polish, you should ensure that you have the following tools in your manicure kit:

UV/LED Lamp

The UV lamp serves the function of curing your nails after you apply the gel polish. The light from the lamp causes a chemical reaction that makes your nails quickly dry up to avoid smear.

Cuticle Oil

When you cure the gel oil, it may cause your cuticle and nails to get dry. Hence, you should have cuticle oil that hydrates your fingernails.

Cuticle pusher

The cuticle pusher is used to expose more parts of your nails hidden under dry skin. This affords you a larger area to apply the gel polish.

Nail Buff

The primary purpose of the nail buff is to smoothen the surface of the nail so that the gel application is flawless.

Nail File

The nail file helps you shape the nails. You have to be careful when using this to avoid injuring yourself.

Other tools you need in your manicure box are; nail clippers, rubbing alcohol, top coat, base coat, and gel polish.

STEPS TO APPLY GEL POLISH

When applying your gel polish, carefully going through the following process ensures the desired result.

Cut and File Your Nails

The very first thing you should do in a manicure is to cut and file your nails. You can use a nail clipper to cut and shape, then a file to make the edges right.

Push the Cuticles

This is where you need the cuticle pusher to expose as much fingernail as possible. Before you push the cuticle, apply cuticle oil; to make it soft. Subsequently, you can also use the cuticle pusher to remove dead skin cells.

Buff the Nails

Buffing involves making sure the surface is smooth. Ensure that your nail is smooth for optimum manicure results.

Clean the Nails

Use the alcohol to clean the nails thoroughly. Cleaning removes all dirt from the nails and allows the polish to adhere properly. If there’s any dirt, it can cause the polish to lift off the fingernails.

Add Base Coat

The base coat is the first layer of polish to apply to the nails. It ensures proper adherence to the gel polish. Make sure the layer of base coat you make is very thing. Wait for 30 seconds after application before continuing with gel polishing. Make sure the base coat covers every area of the fingernail.

Apply the Gel Polish

Before using your polish, shake the container very well. Apply gently. Please make sure the layers are thin and don't let them smear your skin.

Apply Top Coat

Once you like the gel polish, cover it with a topcoat. The topcoat seals the color. Ensure that the top coat covers all areas of the fingernails.
