About Splash Pages And Squeeze Pages - The Benefits

Taking note of the functions and advantages

of splash pages and squeeze pages could be

extremely useful for an online entrepreneur.

I will talk about these as briefly as possible.

Definitions differ from marketer to marketer.

However, when the purpose is taken into

consideration along with the name given to it,

you are able to understand the differences if

you think there are any!

Basically a splash page is a one page website

that loads very fast. That's all there is to it!

A squeeze page is also a one page website

and that too loads fast. However, a squeeze

page has no content to drive visitors to any

sales page and does not contain links

pointing to any commercial sites either.

Then, you my ask "What The Hell Is The

Purpose Of A Squeeze Page?"

Well, a squeeze page typically offers a gift

to the viewer. It contains a link that enables

downloading an e-book, an information

product that is totally free.

The link to that download site will appear

once the viewer submits his e-mail address.

So there you are, you know the purpose of

a squeeze page! No wonder it is also referred

to as a lead capture page!

Now, getting back to splash pages,

when you need to sell something on the

Internet, whether it be your own

product or service, or an affiliate product,

you know very well that it has to be

accomplished via a sales page.

It's the sales page that contains content

paying glorious tributes to the product that is

being marketed. This is followed by the 'buy

now' button. More often such pages take time

to load.

When you advertise a product or service

online, the viewer is compelled to click on

some text or image that is hyperlinked to

the sales page of that product or service.

If the site takes longer to appear on the

screen than he can wait, he opts to click

elsewhere. When he does so, the potential

to make a sale is gone.

The text or image generates interest in

the viewer and this makes him click. The

degree of interest generated is proportional

to how long he is prepared to wait for the

page to load.

If you are able to use an image, of course

there are ways of making it more effective

than using simple text.

In the case of being restricted to text only

you need to think of a caption and text

that will generate enough interest in the

viewer to make him click on your link and

wait until the page loads fully. If you can

manage this, you can point your link direct

to the sales page.

If you are using a review site or a similar

web site where you could describe your

product or service in detail, then of

course you can write some content that

would generate the required degree of

interest for the viewer to wait for the page

to load fully.

If there is a restriction on the number of

words that you are permitted to use in

your advertisement then you have no

choice but to use a caption smart enough

just to make the viewer click. Pointing it to

a splash page and not the sales page will

be wise.

The caption on the splash page supported

by the sub headers will definitely add to the

interest generated by his initial click. So the

viewer is more likely to wait until your sales

page loads fully, having clicked on the link

on your splash page.

When using traffic exchanges it would be

most advisable to use a splash page with

a catchy caption and a link pointing to the

sales page of whatever it is that you are

advertising.

If you have used traffic exchanges surely you

would recall dozens of instances when the

timer is up for you to click, and nothing

had loaded on the screen. So the advertiser's

credits have been wasted.

Even in paid to click sites, when the time frame

elapses, the viewer has to click on the next link.

He is paid whether the previous page had

loaded or not. So the advertiser's money goes

waste.

Another advantage offered by splash pages is,

you can use your own captions and content to

promote any product you are marketing.

You can also keep tweaking the headers and

content as much as you want.

If you have access to unlimited splash pages

you can create several splash pages to promote

one single product and advertise them in

different places.

You could also add banners and links pointing to

other sites you have interest in, while retaining

the focus on the primary product.

You could make use a splash page as you would

use a website. Take a good look at one of my

splash pages and you will get an idea of what I

am trying to convey.

At this point I would like to draw your attention

to a site that enables its members an unlimited

number of splash pages for less than six dollars

a month.

Please check out the splash page I have created to

promote this very site.

I too, am an online marketer, testing various advertising methods. I've been online from 2007, observing the many changes that have taken place over the years. I click, I write content, I design and create web pages, and I promote affiliate products and services online ... ! Then I click ... once more, twice more, as often as I need to. You wouldn't know what's in it for you until you click! Well? Well, I have posted a couple of interesting videos on this page. They have nothing to do with money making on the Internet or making money elsewhere! ["idiot" - "He's Wasting Valuable Advertising Space!"] Huh? That's what you think! But I think otherwise! I really do. Well, one of the videos is dedicated to all those online marketers who arrange a few thousands of hits to their referral URLs and when the "expected results" don't materialize, exclaim "Oh This Thing Does Not Work At All! ... It's A Waste Of Time! ... " The other is dedicated to all those online entrepreneurs who spend much time online learning, and testing new methods en route to cracking the code! It'll be easy to figure out which one is for which type of marketer. So take a break guys .... Online explorers ... Enable sound on your speakers / headphones ... and MOVE YER FEET! Stay tuned for more! Cheers!
