About Me

Why I Keep Returning to the Same Puzzle Even When It Annoys Me

There are moments when I genuinely wonder why I keep coming back to this puzzle. It’s not always relaxing. It doesn’t always make me feel smart. Sometimes it’s just frustrating enough to make me sigh and put my phone down.

And yet, I always return.

Not because I’m addicted. Not because I feel obligated. But because there’s something honest about the struggle that keeps pulling me back in.

My Love-Hate Relationship With the Grid
Enjoyment isn’t constant

Some days, everything flows. Patterns appear quickly, and progress feels effortless. Other days, I get stuck almost immediately, questioning whether I’ve forgotten how to think entirely.

The inconsistency used to bother me.

Now, I see it differently.

Why the frustration matters

If the puzzle were always easy, it wouldn’t hold my attention. The moments of resistance are what give the experience weight. They remind me that my mind is actively engaged, not just being entertained.

Sudoku doesn’t promise comfort—it promises honesty.

What Makes This Puzzle Worth the Effort
It never lies to you

There’s no fake progress here. You either understand what’s happening, or you don’t. Every mistake comes from a missed detail, not bad luck.

That clarity feels refreshing in a world full of vague feedback.

It respects your pace

I love that the puzzle doesn’t care how long I take. I can pause mid-thought, walk away, and return hours later without penalty.

That freedom removes pressure and makes effort feel voluntary.
