Advertising to Generate Sales or Build a Business Online

The simple truth is it takes lots of advertising to generate sales or build a business online.
So it takes a variety of internet marketing tools to compete with everyone else on the internet. Use these to get your “message” across to prospective customers or potential business partners.
It is a simple fact most people starting a small or home business do not have the money to start. Fortunately for us, there are a variety of free or low-cost internet marketing resources.
These marketing sources include:
- traffic exchanges
- classified ad sites
- affiliate programs
- safelists
- social networking programs and sites
- banner exchanges
- web rings
- blogs
My internet marketing strategy is simple.
Advertise, advertise and advertise some more.
I believe to be successful marketing requires a combination of sources. Many so-called gurus would disagree with me. But I cannot predict which method will be “in” today and “out” tomorrow. So I prefer to use all available and not focus on just the most popular one.
My Best Recommendation for Traffic
My best recommendation is to start with the Hoopla family of resources to generate traffic and build downlines. Billy and Charlotte Carr have been performing independent testing of traffic sources for years. They identify the top performing safelists, traffic exchanges and other traffic generating sites. These traffic generating sites attract the most people.
The bottom line is go where the people are.
About Glen Palo
Glen Palo here. I have great wife, 5 kids and 9 grandkids. I started my small business in 1996 providing tax preparation services to individuals and small companies. A number of my tax clients were small business owners operating out of their homes. Due to the seasonal nature of tax preparation, I researched creating other sources of income, particularly on the internet since these businesses could be operated from home. Along the way, I built a number of websites related to small/home business tax issues. I gradually moved into the internet marketing niche and built other websites including AchieveUSA.com, which was my most successful website. I also published ezines including “Today’s Network Marketer,” published articles including “How to Market on the Internet for Free” and “Tax Saving Tips for the Self-Employed.” Major surgery put me out of business in 2006. It took quite awhile regain my full strength and stamina. But I am back! Starting over is not so bad. I love the fun and challenge. But here is the best part, it is not hard. It’s simple when you have a plan!
