Hey my friend,
No, don't panic! Aliens haven't landed on the lawn in D.C.!
I was just dropping a line about the importance of first contact
with people who join your email list...
You should always have the first 3 to 5 emails from you be ones
that encourage your new subscribers to reach out and get in
contact with you.
I always put in my email address, Skype address, my personal
cell, and my Facebook address so that they can contact me.
You may not be comfortable with plastering your personal cell
number out there like I am. But at the bare minimum give them a
good email. Branding yourself with a nice picture doesn't hurt
either, and gives them a face to put with the name.
The email address that you give out should be one that you
actually check daily and it should also be one that is not
clogged full of junk that you'd have to sift through or that
would cause you to miss a message from them.
And while you may think that four points of contact may be
overkill, it isn't and here's why...
Many people have one particular preference out of those four
options that they feel most comfortable reaching to you out on.
For instance some people do not have Facebook accounts and refuse
to start one!!
They prefer email and have been using it for work
for years and feel the most comfortable with that option.
Others need to see a text or speak to someone on the phone so
that they can be reassured that there is a real person on the other end of your offer or business.
Some who are international and may be on the other side of the
world from you prefer Skype because it is free to call, it's
worldwide.
With Skype they can get all the above listed benefits and
reassurance of the phone verification PLUS being able to put a
face to the name that's in the emails they are receiving from
you!
The same benefits apply for Facebook as well with many
international / worldwide correspondence...
Early and consistent communication with people who have joined
your list is the most important step to getting the "know, like,
and trust" ball rolling!
If you can get a capture page that has an option to collect their
phone number as well as their name and email...That way you can
immediately get on the phone or and IMMEDIATELY build rapport and
trust with them!
And another reason that you give them many different options is
that some people plain old don't read their emails! Or if they do
they read 0.5% of them.
That means YOUR emails also get lost in the shuffle between their
lack of reading and Gmail's dreaded filters....sad, but true...
As soon as they opt in to your list, reach out to them any which
way you can! And remember rule #1 and rule #2...
Rule #1 Don't spam them!!- Be friendly, offer to add value for
them in whatever area they need help in, and help educate them in
whatever they need at that point, be it how to email market, how
to write ad copy, how to setup Skype (ah, see what your doing
there? MORE ways for you to connect with them if they hadn't
already been a Skyper...)
If you don't think you can teach them x y and z skills or don't
have the experience yourself, that's NOT a problem!
Tell them you can help them, then go to Google or YouTube and
find the answer to their question!!!
Then learn it yourself and teach them, or if you're so inclined
you can simply send them the YouTube link to the video that
answers their question..And they'll LOVE you for it!
I prefer the learn apply teach approach of the first option
rather than simply sending them to a video that I looked up. LAT
(Learn, Apply, Teach) adds a more personal touch and it also
helps YOU learn and grow as a mentor and marketer and will serve
you and your subscribers/ peers well over the long haul.
Rule #2 Be consistent in your follow up! Email your list at least
once a day every day! Don't have any content that day? Same
answer! Go to the big G or the trusty YT and find some info that
will help them!! Or send them a blog post that will help them...
I also make it a habit with the people who join me in my business
or with those with who reach out to me for help and guidance
and that I regularly converse with in some way shape or form
outside of the email list- I check in with them once a week, or
at bare minimum twice a month via fb messenger, or text, or a
quick Skype line or phone text to see how they are doing.
So, in closing, if you do all these things and make them habit,
you will become a r consistent, constant (but not overwhelming)
part of their life. You will be a familiar face and name to them,
seen as a source of authority, trust, and help.
Thanks for reading, that's all for today...
Until we speak again, have a great day!
Sincerely,
Seely Clark IV

About Seely Clark
I live in Bangor, Maine and I worked full-time as a RN at a local hospital. In 2010 I started working online Part-time after my mother was disabled by a heart attack. I wanted to build extra income to help with her health care. What started as a way to make extra income has grown into a passion! Over the last several years, it has started to come together for me. I am now able to work online full time It is AMAZING! Over the years I have learned a great deal about marketing on the Internet. I have learned many things that donβt work and and much that DOES work. One thing I have learned is that for me to succeed, I have to help others succeed. So now my focus is on teaching others what I have learned works so that they can avoid the money wasting struggles I went through and finally start making money on the Internet.
