Taking the time to do these two things will up your game in business by 1000%

When you are working in a business, whether it be online
marketing, affiliate marketing, email marketing, MLM / network
marketing or any online other online business, home based
business, or a traditional brick-and-mortar business offline, it
is VERY easy to get caught up in and be swept away by the day to
day work flow and routine that you have found for yourself. You
can lose time and lose track of what your original goal for the
day actually was.
For those that are working their brick and mortar business this
can come in the form of a rapid influx of customers, new members,
or even a tourist bus showing up at a buffet restaurant when you
are short staffed because someone called in sick or you staffed
light that day.
For those that are promoting their brick and mortar business
online, or for those of us that are in a completely online
business, it could take the form of a tech hiccup in part of your
marketing tools online.
Or maybe your web designer or the guy that is making that banner
for your hot new funnel or offline business cards/ banners/ sales
flyers is late on his delivery time- that all adds up and can
send you into a tail spin.
First thing you must realize and be prepared to deal with is the
fact that this stuff will happen no matter how well you plan and
structure your business and marketing routine. Being aware it
does and will happen to you at some point is half the battle.
How you REACT TO IT is the other half.
So, to counter this, here is one of the two things that you can
do to up your game by 1000%.
Thing number 1) Always have a plan B!
If you have banners, headers, logos, ad copy, or other
promotional materials being made up by someone else for your
business, whether it s online or offline- always have another
person that can do the same tasks for you on retainer, and make
sure it is someone who can produce results FASTER than your first
choice.
You may be saying well, why don't I just go with the fastest guy
in the first place?
Well, actually, you will- you will end up with TWO of the
fastest- but you will choose to go with the one that has the best
proven track record, plenty of proof of his finished work, happy
customer testimonials lined up to show on his resume, and who is
ALSO the fastest among service providers of his caliber in his
niche. Because fast is always a must you do get what you pay for
and you want the best in all aspects!
That's easy to find online- like on Fiverr, Upwork,
Peopleperhour, or other outsourcing sites.
Proof is what makes their world go round and they will have loads
of proof and testimonials falling off the page at you.
Also when you ask around, both offline and online, word of mouth,
both good and bad, travels FAST!
It won't take you long to get a bead on who is the best when you
reach out and ask others that are in the same business or
business niche as you and who have had this type of work
outsourced before.
When I say to have the FASTEST or someone who can / will deliver
it faster than the first provider waiting in the wings, it is
because of one word - competition breeds speed!
Meaning that for every top dog alpha that you hire, there is
always another just waiting for them to falter.
And when they
hear that it's their turn on deck to get your business, they will
pull out all the stops and haul ass to meet your deadline.
Because they KNOW that if they impress you this time that they
will either a) get your business next time or b) you will
recommend them to others.
Either way it's a win win for the
up-and-comer who is HUNGRY and willing to HUSTLE!
So if you always have a plan B, then when plan A goes sideways
you can make a call and be back on track in no time!
Thing number 2) Make sure you take regular breaks!
If you are in front of your computer for hours on end, your
productivity WILL decline the longer you are in front of it
without a break. Therefore, schedule a 15 minute break every hour
or two. Go stretch, go outside, pee, kiss your spouse (don't try
those last two at the same time- awkward!)....
Make sure to take regular vacations from work! ????
Yes I mean, shut the effin' phone and computer off- inform
everyone, your customers, business partners, industry peers,
mentors, and students that you will be unavailable for X period
of time.
This DOESN'T mean that you have to schedule a trip to Cabo, you
can do a "staycation" and stay near home- just be sure to go out
and do things you "want" to do and see. Things that make you
happy, rather than things you would normally do out of habit. And
be sure to take lots of pictures and videos!
Then either set your business on autopilot (online). Offline you
would find someone you trust to hold down the fort while your
away.
And GO RELAX!!
And stick to it! No checking in, none of that!
Doing this regularly- two days a month, or a week every 3 to 6
months (depending on your business and success level/ earnings)
will give your mind time to rest.
It will help you slow down and reconnect with friends and loved
ones, which helps you remember why you started working for
yourself in the first place.
It will refresh your "why" in your mind and give you clarity.
Some new ideas may pop up, and your time away will (if you're
smart and take pics/ video) will give you lifestyle content to
show (this goes for both online and offline) to others when you
get back.
The lifestyle photos and video will do this for you:
It will reinforce your authority, credibility, and perceived
success status.
It will show others that yes, you are human, and do take a break
because family and friend are just as important to you as your
chosen business...
That makes you more approachable to more people- peers and
customers- and attracts more business in the long run.
Having a plan B for when it all goes to crap, and taking some
regularly scheduled down time will leave you more focused,
refreshed, positive, less stressed in a pinch, and overall be
more efficient and effective in your business.
So if you are being ground down by the daily grind, go schedule
your vacation (or "staycation") right now!

About Seely Clark
I live in Bangor, Maine and I worked full-time as a RN at a local hospital. In 2010 I started working online Part-time after my mother was disabled by a heart attack. I wanted to build extra income to help with her health care. What started as a way to make extra income has grown into a passion! Over the last several years, it has started to come together for me. I am now able to work online full time It is AMAZING! Over the years I have learned a great deal about marketing on the Internet. I have learned many things that don’t work and and much that DOES work. One thing I have learned is that for me to succeed, I have to help others succeed. So now my focus is on teaching others what I have learned works so that they can avoid the money wasting struggles I went through and finally start making money on the Internet.
