My father devoted his entire life working for large company - wasting away his life completing data sheets, contracting, learning red tape, awaiting someone to get back to him, bangin' his head on a work desk ...
The salary was okay, but he hated it.
Over dinner, he 'd often complain about his chief never thinking outside the box.
He truly desired to leave.
But he never did. He worked there as a mid-level employee for 43 yrs up until he retired. At the time of retirement he was presented a gratitude certification and a measly pension which had not been enough in order to maintain the same life-style. He required to get a part-time job at Wal-Mart.
Sad.
Got myself thinking.
Exactly what makes a person get up in the early morning and work a job they undeniably hate and don't do anything to find another job or start a business?
How come the majority of people you know dread what they do but do this anyway ... often for decades and in some cases for a lifetime?
Is it fear?
Lack of vision?
Lack of self-confidence?
Each of the above?
Perhaps?
I have no idea what makes people settle for being miserable, however I'm positive in case that they're presented with an opportunity that makes sense, if they're serious about really wanting a change, they'll act upon it, even though they do not have the experience, the funds or the free time to work on it, in the beginning.
They'll take a calculated risk instead of settle for a guaranteed misery.
