The Rocky Roads That Be.........

Once in a while you gain incite from unlikely sources, people long gone from your life, from stories, and from the hidden depths of your own subconscious mind, right?

Well here's something to keep reading, if you enjoy a story that can help you.....

A man once told me, "Adam, you are going to live life living by the terms set by me, society, your peers, your bosses in jobs, and you won't have the golden parts of life."

At the time I found this to be painful. I knew that there was more to life than that. Hope is out there but the roads to what in my soul I knew I wanted were rocky and full of danger. The path hazy and the fear of failure soaked the path like a bloody slash to the gut.

As I looked at him, I said, "Okay." Tear in my eye, I signed off the inner desires I had as I looked at other's lives I observed...

People had jobs in retail and that, I knew, was the only fate I'd have unless something deeply changed in my life... Forever...

I'll get back to the story in a little bit.
You see, the fear of going forward plagues a lot of people. Fear of spending money, fear of taking time to make things happen, fear of failure, fear of making a bad move, fear, fear, fear...

Back to the story. As I noticed the people around me taking jobs, working, I also noticed something inside them... Something missing in their lives too.

They weren't truly LIVING at ALL!

Living by the values they have.... That is when the most fulfilled life can be had.. Who they TRULY are and not what everyone else wants them to be or says they should be like.

I looked at my life and took my very first firm stand in life..

I chose to LIVE! To live HOW I want, work towards WHO I want to live with, BE who I AM, and NEVER settle for second best because I AM WORTH IT.

Best damn choice I made because this photo happened the year I unleashed my potential and chose to live and be me.

Was it hard? YES. Was it worth it? YES. Would I still walk over the bloody, hazy, path over again knowing that tragedy and danger pain would happen? YES.

Because I embarked on my journey....

My gut slashed, blood on the path, drops of tears already on the dirt, ash in the sky, a dark red glow on the horizon... Cries of the battle within...

I forged my path. One step at a time.

Just one step....
