There was a movie released back in 2000 called
Finding Forrester. One particular scene comes to
mine when a well known writer, character played by
Sean Connery where he tells a young student
athlete / writer to use his words to start writing
until you are able to find your own words.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with that at
all but in any business or program we start out
in, we look for something similar.
What emails or phone script can we copy and paste
like our lives depended on?
Is it ok if I swipe (copy term) that blog or
facebook post you wrote?
I thought you said your business / program was
"Done-For-You.
Press Ctrl C then Ctrl V
(no you don't have to do that of course)
We use those two key strokes on the regular
without even thinking. It is even taught in grade
school.
But that is as simple as everyone wants it these
days.
How much of your own “work” is truly yours Or did
you Ctrl C and Ctrl V on that email or document
you wrote the other day?
Have you ever tried to be original?
Have you ever tried to write your own thoughts in
your own voice?
Can you tell me what it feels like once you
completed your “own” work?
It feels pretty awesome!
As you know that takes work but so many want the
easy road to follow. Trust me I have been there
done that.
Now I am not saying you cannot Ctrl C and Ctrl V
info provided to you.
But isn't that what everyone is doing?
Dare to be different and set yourself apart from
the masses.
My goal is to write without Ctrl C or Ctrl V in
which I relate real life, my life, my stories to
tell you about all my success and of course
failures and all the funny moments in between.
Hey I know, I just failed because I missed writing
you the last couple of the days.
And I can give you as many excuses as you like
but you still have to keep pressing forward.
Don't copy and paste because I said so...
Listen to some who have dared to be different and
finding their own voice.
