If you have been online for any amount of time, you may have heard of marketers who are making substantial amounts of passive income. All earned through affiliate marketing.

You may have also heard of people going on vacations and coming back with more money in their account than when they left. This is the power of passive income. Once set up properly and done right, affiliate marketing can earn you massive amounts of money consistently and passively. Take a look at a screenshot taken by an affiliate marketer of his account:

If this looks too good to be true, believe me when I tell you that it is true. Of course this is a person who is called a super affiliate which means they promote high ticket offers and will make large commissions from whatever offer they promote because they have a large following. There are persons who are earning even more.

The good news is that they started exactly the same as everyone else, with nothing or no following. They just took the time and built up their affiliate marketing system. You too can do the same by just applying the same tactics given to you in this guide.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is the process of selling other persons products or services for which you earn a commission. As indicated in the screenshot above, when done right affiliate marketing can make you a lot of money.

Many marketers starting out make the mistake of sending traffic to the offer they are promoting which is a huge mistake. What happens is that they end up building a list for the product owners and not their own. If something bad happens or if they choose to promote another product, they start the process all over again.

To succeed in affiliate marketing for the long term, you will need a funnel. The picture below show you a simple version of an affiliate marketing funnel:

What the picture shows is that you send traffic to a squeeze page through which you will obtain the email address of interested persons who will then be redirected to the offer. It may be wise to offer them something of value in exchange for their email address. They may or may not purchase at this time. In fact even with a quality list you may only get about 2% of persons making a purchase at this time. You will be able to follow up with these persons through email marketing to further encourage them to purchase at a later date.  It has been proven that a person may have to be exposed to a product about seven times before they make a commitment to purchase. Hence the reason for collecting the email addresses.

The tools you will need are:

• Lead magnet – something free to attract your leads
• Capture page/Squeeze page builder
• Autoresponder
• A viable and attractive offer to promote – The most popular platforms can be found in clickbank or Jvzoo.

These are all tools which you can master over time and I would urge you to learn as much as you can about each of these as you grow. Be prepared to spend a little money in setting up these. If you need a done for you system which has all the tools you need already in place, there are two programs I am personally involved in and will be adequate for your needs. Affiliate marketing in my opinion is the fastest way for anyone to start making money online and I would encourage you to start now.  You can make an additional income or a full time income.
