Are you aware that top influencers make more than $150k per post from their Instagram account? Anyone can make a significant amount of money on Instagram with the right strategy and work ethic. I will give you a strategy I have been using for some time now to make a consistent income using Instagram.

At the time of writing, it is estimated that there are more than I billion users on Instagram. It is therefore foolish for anyone to ignore this social media platform.  Instagram is the fastest growing social media platform and what had started as a photo sharing platform has now evolved into a marketing and/or business platform.

While top influencers make about $150k for promotion of a brand, there are many small and micro influencers who gets paid for Instagram posts and make significant income from it.

It is important to note that these influencers have taken the time to build their account and have active and engaged followers in order to have these results. The thing is, anyone can do the same with those same dedication and efforts. You can make money on Instagram whether you have 100k or only 1k followers.

How to Get Real Instagram Followers

Gaining real Instagram followers is possible and I will now break down the steps you will need to make in order to have real organic growth of your Instagram page:

• Uploading quality photos – I have already mentioned that Instagram started as a photo sharing platform. This shows you that the quality of the photos you upload to your page is important for gaining followers and engagements.  One sure way of having persons leaving your timeline and even unfollowing you is to have poor quality photos.

Also be sure that your page has one common theme. All your photos should be around one common theme. Your followers need not be confused as to what your page is all about. As with any other social media platform, bear in mind that you need to be providing quality content to your followers which will encourage them to visit your page and get involved and active.

• Tag the more popular accounts in your niche. Tagging these account may result in them reposting your content thereby resulting in their followers following you. I would always recommending you to get in touch with these influencers and building a relationship with them so as to have a better response. This is social media in case you did not remember.
• Make full use of hashtags to add to your posts. The trick is to put the hashtags as the first comment on your post so as to allow your caption to appear cleaner. Instagram allows you to have as much as 30 hashtags per post. For persons using all 30 works for them while there are others who said that you will need only 11. You will have to run your own research to determine the right amount of hashtags for your account.

• Make your captions catchy and descriptive. People should see the caption and feel compelled to comment and be engaged with your photo. Keep your captions simple, attractive and easy to read. It is very important to be very consistent with your posts. So post regularly.
• Collaborate with influencers and have them do shoutouts for your account. This involves them featuring your account on a post. When their followers see the post, they will be inclined to follow your account. You will usually have to pay a small fee for this shoutout.
• Join engagement groups to increase activities on your posts. The more people who like and comment on your post especially within the first hour of you posting, the more chances it will have for your post to go viral. When your posts go viral, it will go on Instagram’s explore page which will result in more like, comments and followers to your accounts.

How many Instagram followers do you need in order to make money?

You may by now be wondering how much followers you need in order to make money with Instagram. I want to tell you right now that some of the highest paid Instagram users are highly successful with only a few thousand followers while others with account of over 100k followers are struggling.

The key is to have your followers engaged with your posts. It stands to reason that the more engaged followers you have, the better your potential is to make money. There are many accounts which buys their following and any experienced person will recognized this right off.

The average engagement rate for Instagram accounts is around 2% so therefore you can use that as a guide. The following chart shows the average engagement rate percentage for instagram users in 2017. The numbers are still relevant today so be guided accordingly

How much money can you make on Instagram?

The amount of money you make on Instagram will largely depend on your strategy, what you are selling and the engagement rate of your followers. You will not start by making a great amount overnight. In fact you will make very little but as your account grows, so does your earnings.

What happens is that brands will get in touch with you asking you to promote their brands for a fee. This promotion is done by you making a post on their behalf on your timeline or story page for a period of time. The more engaged followers you have, the more money you can charge per post. The length of time needed for the post to run will also play a factor in determining the price.

Ways to get paid on Instagram

There are many ways you can make money on Instagram. I will break them down below:

• You earn money on Instagram as an Instagram influencer – Usually with Instagram, when you have over 10k followers you can start doing posts on your story page. At this stage you may start getting offers from brands and individuals alike who would like for you to promote their brands and services.

As an influencer with an engaged audience, you will not have to go out searching for sponsors for postings. You will be on the radar and you will be found and approached for running ads.

You will now need to be careful that the posts you run is in similarity with the theme of your page. Remember to not confuse your followers. There are also platforms like shoutcart, famebit or whaler where you can join and list your services. There are also many other such platforms online which you can find by checking on google.

• You can make money on Instagram doing E-commerce. – If you have your own products, you can list them on your page strategically to encourage sales. This way you convert your followers into customers or potential customers. In that case, you get paid directly for your services.

If you do not have your own products, you can use the dropshipping method to sell goods for others and keeping the profit. You will still need to bear in mind the theme of your page and ensure that those products are a good fit. Be sure to present them the photos so that they will attract a response from your followers to buy.

• You can get paid in Instagram through Affiliate marketing – I have been asked a number of times how to get paid on Instagram with clickbank. I will now explain it for you all. Once you find a product on clickbank you want to promote, you can then list it on your page and collect your commission whenever a sale is made.

Be careful not to be posting only ads on your page or have them in clutters, as this will only turn off and turn away your followers and you will lose their engagement. Once gone, it will take a lot of work to regain their trust so be careful and always focus on providing them with value. I would recommend that you use a URL shortener for you product links because they look more pleasing to the eye when listing.

I have been able to make a consistent amount of money online by using other people’s followers. Now for the strategy.
