CD BioSciences is pleased to announce the availability of its new product, WMicroTrackers, for C. elegans behavior research. The high-quality WMicroTrackers offer precise tracking solutions for analyzing and studying the behavior of C. elegans, a nematode widely used as a model organism in biological research.

C. elegans, a microscopic nematode, has long captivated researchers across various disciplines due to its simple yet well-defined nervous system and behavior patterns. Historically, studying C. elegans behavior has been a laborious task, requiring extensive manual tracking and analysis. However, CD BioSciences’ WMicroTrackers is set to revolutionize the field by automating the tracking process, enabling researchers to gain a more comprehensive understanding of C. elegans behavior faster than ever before.

The WMicroTracker systems at CD BioSciences incorporate state-of-the-art imaging solutions and advanced tracking algorithms to efficiently and accurately track the movements of multiple organisms at the same time. It extracts and quantifies a wide range of behavioral parameters including movement patterns, velocity, directionality, and response to stimuli. By removing the manual tracking burden, researchers can now focus their time and efforts on interpreting behavioral data, leading to rapid advancements in research related to drug screening, ecotoxicity experiments, aging, neurodegenerative diseases, and much more.

CD BioSciences currently provides four automated micro-tracker systems including Wmicrotracker ONE, Wmicrotracker ARENA, WMicrotracker SMART, and WMicrotracker Mini and each system enjoys different features.

Wmicrotracker ONE is optimized for measurements of animals cultured in a liquid medium by using a 96- or 384-well plate format.

WMicrotracker Mini is the low-cost version of WMicrotracker ONE. It uses the same infrared microbeam technology for measurements of animals cultured in a liquid medium but use a 96-beam sensor array instead of 384.

Wmicrotracker ARENA is used for measurement of C. elegans-cultured in liquid and agar solid medium. It is compatible with 24- and 6-well microplate formats, plus a 35 mm Petri dish.

WMicrotracker SMART suits for path tracking of animals cultured in liquid, solid, or air medium by using a 35 mm Petri dish.

CD BioSciences’ automated micro-tracker systems are built to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and convenience, empowering researchers to achieve groundbreaking results in their studies.
