Basically, there are four branches of hospitality and tourism industries, namely food and beverage, recreation, travel, and lodging. Food and beverage refers to a variety of businesses which prepare food for its clients. According to the statistics, this segment is the largest and provides more than 50 percent of all food consumed in the USA. Taking into consideration the popularity of eating out, it is not surprising that businesses of this industry range from the small and fancy ones to the large world-famous restaurants and cafes like McDonald’s or Starbucks. Lodging, which is also known as accommodation, is a sector of industry aimed at providing customers with a shelter, e.g. a place where they can stop and sleep for a least one night. Lodging involves, for example, youth hostels, expensive hotels like Hilton, highway motels, etc. In addition to bed, many of such places offer SPA, conference-rooms, organizing of different events, etc. Some of them are divided according to the criteria of location, for example, near the airport or certain natural miracles.

Recreation is determined as a kind of activity that is performed by people in order to rest, relax, and enjoy. This industry was designed to refresh one’s body and mind. It is extremely diverse and includes attractions, entertainments, participatory events, etc. Entertainment, for example, includes concerts, shows, spectacles, and attractions refering to museums or amusement parks.

Finally, travel industry is the segment created to foster the moving of people all over the globe. It may consist of transportation system. Travel is divided into following groups: leisure travel that is spending of money on different tours which include food, accommodation, attractions; and business travel, which occurs when a person cross the boards in pursuing of his business objectives, etc.
