Dear readers of my blog. First of all, I want to introduce myself. My name is Ernst Dittmar and I am a passionate photographer and networker. Logically that I have to be a member of Leased Ad Space. I live in the beautiful town of Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Everything is a little bit smaller and closer together than elsewhere. I love this smallness, which sometimes manifests itself in small-mindedness.

No, we are not racists. We also meet the strangers from Basel and Zurich in a friendly way, although we immediately realize that they are not from here.

Public Transport

We are pleased that so many visitors from all over the world visit our beautiful town. 

There is so much to see and to discover in our small town. The best way to travel in Bern is by public transport, which is tram, bus and trolleybus.

Tourists enjoy the medieval old town

The old town dating back to the Middle Ages is always worth a visit. The sidewalks are under the arbors and so you can shop in the rain, without getting wet. 

However, you have to take your time and be patient. The Bernese are the slowest people on this planet. They sneak slowly under the arbors and you have no chance to overtake.

Coziness and smallness are attributes of Bern

There are some small but cozy corners in this town. 

In the residential areas, there are also enough meadows, trees and gardens. Bern is a cozy small town with a great quality of life.

The surroundings of Bern

The nearby Alps are worth a visit. I like being outdoors, especially in the mountains. 

By train you can reach the base stations of the cable cars in about an hour. 

Be sure to take the camera with you. Already in the valley, but even more on the mountains, so many natural beauty are waiting to be taken home as a souvenir.
