The IRS is paying out as much at $26,000 per employee to businesses for the Employee Retention Credits program which is under Section 2301(c)(5) of the CARES Act of 2020.
Under this Act, $2.2 Trillion was authorized for emergency assistance in response to COVID.
ERC funds are not as easy to get as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds were, so businesses need help to apply for these funds.
Help is available, but the window to apply is limited as funds are expected to be available only until about April 2025.
