If you choose to invest in anything, invest in yourself. Find one thing that you can do or learn to do and just do it. Write about it. Take photos. Record videos. Run podcasts. Advertise with banners. Run webinars. Run Facebook pages. Be admin of a website. If you think these things are too hard then either learn or go back to offline work. People in older times made things to sell. Or raised crops. Or learned a trade.

What about that sports team you love or hobby that you spend time doing? Make that the start of something like others have done before you when the Internet was new. You have everything within reach to get started, much of it for free. You get 2,000 free sign ups with MailChimp, for example.
