During his college years, he also worked as Assistant Director at the Complete Game Institute for two years, where he managed the Pitching Biomechanics Facility, coordinated pitching camps, and worked with high-speed video technology. His early professional experience included internships with the New York Mets, Turner-Gary Sports, and the Detroit Tigers. At the New York Mets, Menzin worked in Corporate Sales and assisted with client relations, corporate activations, sales support, stadium tours, and game-day operations. At Turner-Gary Sports, he spent two years in Baseball Operations, supporting salary arbitration preparation, statistical analysis, market evaluation, and free-agent strategy. He also contributed to the development of the agency's website. In 2012, he joined the Detroit Tigers as an intern in Baseball Operations, assisting with arbitration preparation, negotiation analysis, player evaluations, and trade-related research. His career with the Detroit Tigers lasted 14 years and included advancement through several leadership positions. Beginning as an intern, Sam progressed through analyst, coordinator, and director roles before becoming Vice President and Assistant General Manager in 2021. In that role, he led teams across scouting, medical, performance, and player experience departments.
