Blogging, A Free Traffic Source

Blogging is one of those strategies that can be both FREE and can be paid…

Let’s just concentrate on the FREE stuff for this today’s article!

As with anything consistency is the key to this method. You will want to think of your blog like a weekly TV series. Pick you favorite series and mimic their advertising tactics, I mean why not they spend millions to do it.

And with anything in internet marketing it is the one profession where it is beneficial to copy…pick the person you most want to be like and copy them…it is the same with your weekly content.

  • The DO’s to a well written (FREE) blog
  • Write to an audience
  • Take some time to determine who it is that you want to talk too
  • Create an avatar

Yes, I know it can be time consuming, but it is well worth those extra minutes.

  • Make sure to address a problem, question, or concern
  • Write so you are known as the content expert
  • Chose your topic to address something niche specific (this will help with search engine ranking and keywords)
  • Make sure to include:
  • Free offers
  • Valuable give-a-ways (sign up for a weekly update and receive a free gift)
  • A place to capture leads
  • Social Media interactions
  • Make sure to ask for comments – AND – interact with those who comment.

This is huge, remember the first thing we learned as an entrepreneur is time is money and once time is spent you can never get it back. You need to make sure your readers are important to you and at a minimum answer the first several. Interaction can be as simple as “Good Post!” or “Never thought of that side of it” or even just a “Thank You”.

It is alright if you don’t get comments, sometimes it does happen. Just remember your commenter is IMPORTANT and to always use the golden rule

“Treat them like you would like to be treated!”

Lastly, make sure to stay away from these DON’Ts…

  • Keywords – never make your main concentrate on the keywords. You want your information to be quality and written to your audience. Choosing a targeted niche specific topic that answers your avatars problems-questions-concerns should address any keywords needed for the SEO
  • Search Engines – never write with search engine rankings priorities. Remember the avatar and write specifically to them and the same with keywords a carefully chosen niche specific topic answering your avatars problems-questions-concerns should be all you need.

Although SEO and keywords are what put your offer in front of your potential prospects, it is still that prospect that is going to pull out the credit card and purchase.

I am a 50ish woman who really doesn't care about the numbers, this way my "about me" will be current for a few more years. I have an auto immune disease that I battle every day although I am told I will not die from it...I am also a cancer survivor. I am a mother of 2 grown children Jaki and Jake, and a Grammy to a beautiful boy Colton and another that is due in August 2017. I am in a 18 year relationship with my soul mate, Jim. After being terminated from my 21-year corporate career of process writer for a medical manufacturing company in 2012, I set on a journey to become an online entrepreneur. I believe that the internet can provide a valuable means of support for all who want and need to make money. You see when you get social security disability way before you are ready takes your way of life from living to surviving. I must move slow as I am now bringing in less than 1/3 of what my corporate salary was. The thing is even though I lost that income, I didn't lose my expenses. After taking 1/2 of my retirement savings to fund my business adventure, I learned the hard way there are wolves in this business that are only interested in taking your money. I am determined to find a good mentor to follow and a source that is economical so that people who are in the same or a similar situation can also make a lucrative living on line. My goal is to help anyone and everyone to never must decide to pay bills, eat, or buy medications in other words be able to provide for themselves and never have to depend on anyone or any entity for their standard of living... Standard of living and FREEDOM should be an individual choice and not determined by how much money you are allotted to live on...
