Let’s get it…

Alright, so over the course of the next 14 newsletters, I’m going to be delivering to you some really cool and effective underground traffic sources.

All powerful and all free!

Today I want to talk about an often-overlooked source of traffic…

…the almighty PressRelease.

I actually have seven of these press release traffic sources I want to give you, but we are going to divide them into two newsletters.

Before I get into the first three though, let me explain a few things about this situation.

First) With a press release, consider the following as a general template:

a) A clear press release title

b) A brief summary of the press release in one or two sentences

c)  3–4 paragraphs describing the press release and any related background information

d)  A quote from someone of relevance

e) Bullet points with facts or figures

f)  A description of the business

g) Contact details

Second) When you are doing the actual content for the press release, consider the 5 W’s:

a) Who’s this about?

b) What’s this about?

c) When is this going to happen or when did this happen?

d) Where did this happen?

e) Why should people care?

Now, in the spirit of not making this newsletter too long, I’ll skip the example of what this might look like.

However, you can Google press release examples easily enough for help if you are struggling.

And you can also check out this free audio book on Amazon for more in depth info.

Just follow the pattern because the great thing about press releases is that they all follow the exact same format every time. once you have done one you have done them all!

Another cool thing about pressreleases is that there are plenty of free as well as paid sites out there that offer Press release services including distribution.

So if you try some of these free services that I am getting ready to talk with you about…

…and have luck with them, you can always scale up and explore some paid services as well.

Not all traffic sources work for all people or all situations, but press releases are predictable and reliable and proven and have worked for many people when it comes to driving buyer traffic to your website or affiliate offers.

So they are definitely worth your time and effort, you just need to be consistent.

But if you are literally pushed for time, reliable get it done for you services like this one are available.

Traffic Source 1: Prfree(dot)org - For companies of all sizes, PRFree offers a free press release distribution service. By providing both free and paid distribution options, PRFree aids businesses in the optimization of their marketing efforts.

Being a multi-channelpress release website that supports press releases in several fields, PRFree has made a name for itself. Individuals, businesses, and governments from all over the world are using this service.

PRfree is generating around 20k visitors a month (which isn’t a lot) however, it has acompletely free option and is worth giving a shot.  Just bear in mind that with press release services, traffic to the site is not necessarily an indication of reach.

Traffic Source 2: PRlog(dot)org - Prlog sends press releases to news websites, blogs, journalists and search engines for free to enhance traffic and visibility for all businesses.

Like PRfree, this is a chance to get a press release distributed to multiple channels on your behalf for free.

PRlog is actually getting quite a bit of traffic at around 232k visitors a month, and 43% of that traffic coming from the United States.

No reason NOT to use his one.

Traffic Source 3: PR(dot)com -  Sends press releases to hundreds of media outlets, journalists, influencers, websites, social media, major news outlets' newsrooms and more using PR.com's market-leading content distribution technology.

Some of the many advantages include increased visibility online and in traditional media, bringing in new clients, growing your audience, boosting current relationships and increasing leads and sales.

Pr(dot)com is gettingroughly 87k visitors a month, and 60% of that traffic is coming fromthe United States.  While none of that is an indication for the distribution of your press release, it is an indication that many people are using this company.  Great opportunity here.

Alright, that’s three for today.  I’ll be back with three more tomorrow.

In the meantime, head over to these websites and see if they could be a good fit for what you are trying to accomplish with traffic.

See you tomorrow!
